Any name-brand synthetic, like Mobil-1. The synthetics just last longer and put up with more abuse than non-synthetic oils, in any car.

Turbochargers have very high spin RPM, like 150K RPM, and need clean, good quality oil, since they float on an engine oil "liquid bearing". I don't think a supercharger spins that fast, as I believe it gets powered by a belt running off the engine (turbos are powered by the exhaust gases).

Stay away from pennzoil and quaker state. they contain parrafin, which is a form of wax and if you do short trip driving, the wax wont' be able to melt and will gum up your engine. Use 10w30. Stay away from blended oils, they are a waste of money. there is more conventional than synthetic in the blends. It's great marketing though.

I prefer Valvoline Synthetic, I use valvoline products 100% in every car I work on. It has never failed me.

Any other brand name is good.. Redline is superior, but it's usualy $3 more than a synthetic oil.

The biggest issue is oil filters.. stay away from Fram products. In addition to the oil caps coming loose, a lot of people have an engine ticking sound.. that's due to the fram filter getting plugged up because it failed.

Good filters are purolator, Wix, bosch, etc..

read the oil filter study. It's independant and while just 1 person's opinion, I believe 100% in it as I deal with these things every day.

You should change the oil every 5000 miles. You can change the oil more often and your engine will last longer but the difference will probably not be significant. You should use the weight and type of oil recommended in the owners manual. Any major brand of oil will be fine for your car. You should also change the oil filter when you change the oil, again, any major brand of filter will be fine. Another overlooked item is the air filter, dust is abrasive and it can cause wear in your engine. Changing the air filter when it is dirty can improve the performance of your engine and prolong it's life.

Dura blend. I have a grand prix and a 2006 g6. The prefer that you use the Dura blend during summer and full synthetic during winter so that the oil has a longer life span and it better for a super charge or high performance engine such V6 and up.

Castrol syntec is a good oil, overpriced hydro cracked petroleum oil.... yes, they won the legal battle to call it a synthetic.

Use a good name brand synthetic, 5w-30 would be the weight to use, no need to switch weights with a syn.... they stand up to much higher heat, longer and better. They have alot better cold flow ability as well. Pennzoil platinum, Mobil 1, redline, amsoil, or royal purple are all good.

Synthetic oils are really good- especially, as the gentleman above me said, Royal Purple.

I understand Mobil 1 is good, too. So is Valvoline.

first of all, the SC has its own oil, not anyway conneted to the engines oiling system if that's what your worried about. I'm assuming you have factory SC engine. And the answer for engine oil is Castrol Syntec 5w30

Use Castrol Syntec, It is made for more high performance engines and you'll get a better output of HorsePower from your vehicle.

Any good quality, high detergent motor oil should be fine, but I would check what's recommended in your owners manual.
