What do you think of pontiac products?

I am looking for an honest dealership to work for.I found this great,good reputation, independent dealer who sells pontiacs.I need to know if this product is any good,or it will be impossible for me to sell it.If there are auto fanatics,owners,or people really into auto industry,please give me your advise

Pontiac has lost it's luster. The old "classic" cars defined them, but they have not had a great market share in some time.

They share design traits with Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, and Buick.

Unfortunately they haven't made a stellar car in 20+ years.

The cars made by Pontiac are adequate, but for the price, and comparable model, the Japanese models are the better choice.

Pontiac's resale, durability, curb appeal, and features, fall short of their import counterparts. I do like the new Solstice convertible, and it is rumored that a new Firebird will be here early next year, or by 2009. I hope Pontiac does better with the new models than they did when they reintroduced the GTO. That was a sad day for American cars. I still have 3 Pontiacs ( 66 GTO Convertible,

79 Trans/AM, 98 WS6 Trans/AM) but those are the last of the great Pontiacs. I would like to see them turn it around, but they have a long way to go.

I've got an '04 Pontiac Grand Prix gt. ITs the best most trouble free car I've ever owned( I leased it as a new car). I come off lease in November and I'm thinking about buying it out even though I could easily afford a new car. Pontiac owners tend to be radically loyal and a dealer needs to reward that loyalty with excellent service. If you want to work for this dealer ask them about their composite customer satisfaction score. If they are good they'll brag about it and that would be my signal that they were ok. I happen to like the new Pontiacs. You can actually buy some horsepower from them and I think they are very stylish.



I want to add - the new solstice is selling at a premium over sticker. Someone above here said they didn't like it. Lotsa people do , Pontiac can't keep up with the demand.

I probably shouldn't taint my outlook on Pontiac because of an accident but my ex's father was killed in a car accident in a Pontiac firebird. A couple weeks later, a recall came in the mail which explained why the accident happened. I am a bit scared to step foot in any Pontiac cars now. I rode in that car many times and it could have been me in the car.



If they seem like a very good dealership to go with, I say take the chance... especially if they are an honest dealership, that's a big plus.

I had horrible luck with the new Pontiac Grand Am that I purchased in 1989. The car was beautiful and fun, but it was not reliable or dependable. There was basically no resale value. The dealership was very unhelpful. By the way, they went out of business.



Next I bought a Chevrolet Lumina in 1995. It was a lemon. I only got 60, 000 miles on it before it died a severe death...



Now, I purchase Hondas for my family. We have gotten over 200,000 miles on the Hondas (Accord and Civic), and they are extrememly dependable, reliable, and practical.



By the way, I was raised in a family that firmly believed in buying GM products, mainly Chevrolets. I tried to stay with GM, but after two failed attempts, I simply had to spend my money more wisely...

I have the ability to purchase most cars and trucks available on the market. The only Pontiac I would seriously think about buying is the Vibe GT. I would be cautious buying a new Pontiac because of high depreciation. Those are my two cents about the brand.

We have owned Pontiacs for years. Usually Bonnevilles. My sister even drove one back in the 60's...with wide track. ha ha



I drive a 2000 SSEi and we still have our 1995 Bonneville SSE that replaced a 1989 Bonneville. Our 95 has 172,000 miles on it, and it runs perfectly. Only had to replace the fuel filter and the computer control modual.



My husband swears by his 2006 GTO. Its one of the fastest cars out there right now, we take it to the track, and drive her home...no problems at all!!



We love all our Pontiacs...and considering my husband is a VERY picky car person, for us to keep buying them means a lot. We live in Northern CA and we use Alfred Matthews as our dealership. They ROCK. You want a special car, call them and they will find it and call you when it arrives.

oklatom is humorous. right it rather is my handle issues. no you may journey Toyota's long term reliabilty different than Honda and Suzuki (that are a splash sloppy), Volvo's are stable too yet after 10 years they require costly maintanence. Then it comes right down to how the autos are made to force, Honda's prefer to rev, Toyotas have extra backside end grunt so I want using a Toyota because it feels to tug/improve up extra suited without desiring to floor it. Now the Vibe is fairly a Toyota with plenty extra suited styling. yet, I will never purchase a clean or used automobile that may not a Toyota or Honda or Suzuki. I even have seen many new American based autos, especiialy through fact businesses like Jeep and Saturn are constantly getting optimal preliminary high quality awards. i will care much less approximately preliminary high quality, tutor me a automobile that has had no artwork performed different than fluid differences at 200,000 miles or twenty years, and that i will tutor you that it rather is a Toyota. Oh and the reality that American automobiles are being equipped exterior of the US and eastern automobiles are being equipped interior the US might inform you approximately high quality standards, even with the reality that a eastern equipped Toyota continues to be the main high quality equipped automobile. reducing costs? I have owned Pontiacs all my life love there sporty look. I have had very few problems over the years. I have a TRANS and a GRAND Prix at present love them both

gotta love them pontiacs , has had 3 pontiac sunbirds all have been great , pontiac is a member of the gmc family , so you will be selling more then pontiacs but all g.m.c,s are pretty good

i worship my bonneville, and the one i had before it. every member of the pontiac team at my dealership is outstanding. cannot say enough good things, even though '06 was the last bonneville year (for shame)! great luck to you.

go to edmunds.com or kbb.com, you will find people who own and drive them there commenting. i used to sell car a year ago, and most of the used pontiacs rattled a lot, didn't seem to be built well..
