I have a 2005 Pontiac grand prix GXP. When I was on vacation, my car started having problems accelerating. First, it would go 20-30 mph and then I would have to step on the gas harder and rev up the rpm's.... eventually it would catch and accelerate normally. A few days later, it seemed like it was getting harder to accelerate and when I stopped at a gas station to get gas, my car wouldn't accelerate or reverse. I turned the car off.... waited a minute... and then was able to accelerate but had the same problem when I stopped at a light a couple minutes later. My car was towed to a repair place and the car repair place thinks it is the transmission pump without looking at it.
I had a transmission flush 6 months ago. All regular oil changes, etc. My car has 75000 miles on it.
Does this make sense. How much would it cost to fix? What would cause the transmission problems?
