I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix SE. 3.1 motor and the fans may not be coming on when need be. Now I know by now it could be one of the Mini Relay Fuses which there are 3 under the Hood in the fuse box.

Two are silver which are 4 plug
The other one is Black and is a 5 Plug.

What do these go to. I thought maybe the Silver 4 Plugged ones turn the fans on and if they are out maybe that's why the fans aren't working, but the fans don't work at a certain temp either so is that what the Black Fuse is for. Tried looking for what these fuses would go to but can't find a Diagram for it.

If you know what else could cause the fans to be not working beside these fuses and the Fan motor please feel free to let me know...

Thanks in advanced guys.

The bad thing about the cooling system as for the electrical part, is really is confusing to look at the schematics. It pretty muchs runs through all 3 relays. But the fans won't come on unless it does hit a certain temp.

That was my question, what is the problem your having??

If you turn on your A/C, both fans should come on. If they both are on, then you just eliminated your fans & relays out of the problem. Your PCM controls the rest. But your fans only come on when your coolant temp hits a certain point without the A/C on.

so that leaves us with what is actually happening & wrong with your vehicle??? Overheating?

I have a 1996 Bonneville SSEI which was the first year for the Series 2 supercharged L67. I can tell from experience that a 96 SSEI will beat a 97+ Grand Prix GT coupe and sedan but it will loose to a buick GS and a GTP coupe but its about even with a GTP sedan. The 2000 SSEI is about 200 pounds heaver than the 96 to 99 SSEI. But if I had to guess I would say that the 2000 SSEI would be faster than the Grand Prix GT. The 96 to 99 SSEI is about the same size as the GP sedan and I have to say that my SSEI handles very well for a large sedan it also breaks very good as well. The newer SSEI is supposed to have a stiffer unit body than mine it also has wider tires and better brakes.
