The American version also has more rust proofing added to it, and it had to conform to U.S. safety regualtions.

I don't know how the American version was made four years before the Australian version. Being how the new "GTO" is imported from Australia. The Monaro first came out in 1968 and their modern version in 2001.

well the holden monaro is pretty much the same car except it is the australian version of general motors, and the newer models have a v6 3.8 supercharged, also used in the grand prix, option car , opposed to general motors just having the v8 american versions, pretty much power is the same, except for the v6. pretty much they are the same except for ideas in a little designs here and there. and the american version was made 4 years earlier than the australian one. the american version was launched in 64 and the australian one in 68 . modern australian vers was relaunched in 2001 followed by the american one in 2004, yup
